Remedial & sports massage
We offer a range of remedial massage options, delivered by our fully-trained and qualified massage therapist or physiotherapist
We use massage therapy to treat:
How effective is it?
Massage relieves muscular tightness, stiffness, spasms and restrictions in the muscle tissue. It increases flexibility and length by relaxing the muscle and breaking adhesions formed by scar tissue. The increased circulation as a result of massage brings more oxygen and nutrients, reducing muscle fatigue and soreness, and promoting rapid removal of waste toxins from the body.
Massage treatments can be tailored to your needs, and you will have an opportunity to discuss with your therapist whether you would prefer a more gentle or deep tissue type of massage before your treatment.
The effectiveness of the treatment is a result of two responses created by massage:
- mechanical responses as a result of pressure and movement as the soft tissues are manipulated, and
- reflex responses in which the nerves respond to stimulation.
